Hospice and palliative care are based on the concept that when faced with the end of life, residents are able to die without pain and with
dignity and support. Families will be supported through the process as well. Hospice Care involves a team-oriented approach to medical
care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support. Hospice care is available at all of The United Methodist Homes' skilled
nursing and assisted living residences through a partnership with hospice agencies. The resident’s needs, desires and quality of life are
the focus of this team. Hospice services are usually covered under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed
care organizations.
